Hakujin josei [White Woman]
Once, Jenny went Japan to visit her grandparents. She visited every month. When she went at October, the month of Halloween, something strange happened... Read on.
She was sitting on the terrace for leisure, at evening time, someone was coming through the railing of the terrace. Jenny first stood their, curiously, and started walking towards the railing, but before she had a chance to do that, she froze. There was a woman, fully white. White skin, white dress, white hat, anything but her facial makeup was white. She was wearing a white cloak, and underneath it a white dress. That woman began hissing - You will die, die, die, die, die..... Die, die, die, die..... She started towards Jenny, but Jenny quickly slopped down the stairs, and she didn't mind if she got hurt.
She went to her grandparents and explained to them all that had happened. A rush of fear came on both of their faces. They tried to calm themselves down. Grandpa quickly went and locked the door of the terrace and then said seriously 'Look, Jenny, you're a victim of 'Hakujin josei', white woman. She has planned to capture you and kill you. For this night, you would have to stay in your room alone, and all the windows will be tightly locked, I cannot come to accompany you, otherwise she will be suspicious. None of us will communicate with you until morning 7 pm. We will give a secret knock which will have five knuckle-taps and one scratch. Be safe and remember what I said.'. Then he leaved Jenny in her room and Jenny locked herself in.
As soon as she went, there was tapping on her window and a voice was being heard - Die, die, die, die..... you will die, die, die, die... It made Jenny's blood run cold. She had no idea how she was going to spend the whole night ahead. Then she received a call from granny. It said - Are you safe up their, Jenny? I can give you company if you like. Jenny was getting suspicious. Didn't grandpa say that they wouldn't communicate with her until morning? And besides, that voice was not like granny's voice, it sounded more like the voice which said - Die, die, die, die.... She knew it, it wasn't granny, it couldn't be. But just then, a call came again from granny and it said- I have come, you can open the door now. This voice also sounded like Hakujin josei's voice, and they were supposed to do their secret knock, weren't they? She made up her mind, she wasn't going to open the door NO MATTER EVEN IF THE UNIVERSE SHOOK, she wasn't going to open the door until morning. This tapping continued till morning. Jenny got used to it. She started reading a book, a large volume of an encyclopedia, which was kept on a shelf. The book made her a bit bored, and after a while, she started to get drowsy. She tried to control it, in case something important would happen. But after about 5 mins, she started to get intensely drowsy and she started to doze off... she was trying really hard to control it. But she couldn't see anything clearly.. and her eyes were feeling as hard as 10 suitcases with 100 books in each of them. Then, before she knew it, she fell asleep with book in her hands.
She fell asleep for two hours and she didn't realize it, the book slipped out of her hands, her head bent forward. And what woke her up was something, or someone, banging loudly on her door. She was frightened. She jumped out of her bed and pressed the door tightly with her hands. The time was 6:30 am. 'Just half an hour more', she thought. After 15 minutes, the banging faded away, at least that was for Jenny because she was dozing off tremendously, and she fell asleep again, and one the floor, sitting in front of the door. Then the secret knock began, when Jenny was practically asleep. She woke up with a jolt but hesitated for a moment before opening the door. She checked her watch and it was 7 am. She opened the door with uncertainty, but sighed with relief when she saw Granny and Grandpa. They hugged her tight and said 'We have to get you back to airport, it is not safe for you anymore to live here.' They took her in a dark car and said 'Keep your head lowered and don't peek out of the car.' She agreed. A point came when grandpa said 'Here's where you would be in danger.' Unstoppable tapping and die die sound began. And then Hakujin josei peeked in the car. Granny held Jenny tight. She stepped up and after 10 mins the tapping and voice stopped. They finally got at the airport. Her parents hugged her tight and said that they were glad Jenny was safe and fine.
And of course, the reason she was dozing off a lot of times because this is the trick Hakujin josei played on all her victims, so that they are killed without anyone knowing.
She never went to visit Japan after that, even if she wanted so badly. She couldn't even attend her Granny's funeral after 5 years. She contacted them two times a day. Once, after Granny's death, she contacted Grandpa, what she could hear was - 'Your Grandpa is dead, and you will also die, die, die, die....
